The ATHA Wellness Legacy: Wisdom of the Mountains
About the Resort & Its History
The ATHA Wellness Experience: Nestled across 20 acres of vibrant orchards and ancient forests of oak and rhododendron, ATHA Wellness is a sanctuary for the modern soul. We invite you to experience "slow living" through mindful bird watching, village walks, and treks to the 10th-century Kapileshwar Temple. For adventure seekers, we facilitate rock climbing and rappelling on the nearby Mukteshwar cliffs. Whether you are waking up to sun-drenched views of the Panchachuli and Maiktoli peaks or finding peace in our strict digital-detox environment, the TGH Group Team ensures every moment is defined by "The Great Hospitality."
The Heritage: The history of the estate is tied to the legendary "Golden Water" spring, believed to possess medicinal properties. Originally the retirement retreat of Captain Kushal Singh Burathoki of the 3rd Gurkha Rifles, the property still preserves its century-old heritage heart. Our cottages are built using traditional 'Bakli' architecture—utilizing local stone and mud plaster to naturally regulate temperature, keeping you cozy during Himalayan winters and refreshingly cool in the summer.
