About the Resort & Its History
The Resort Experience: Situated on a 5-km long ridge, Hardik Resort Chaukori offers an unparalleled vantage point for the "fire-hues" of a Himalayan sunset. This 10-room retreat is designed for slow travel and meditation, where guests wake up to unobstructed views of Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot, and the Panchachuli peaks. Managed with the TGH Group's signature focus on operational excellence, the resort blends a "homestay" warmth with professional hospitality, providing a peaceful sanctuary amidst emerald tea gardens and forests of rhododendron.
The Historical Legacy: Chaukori is a land steeped in royal and colonial heritage. Once a capital of the Chand Dynasty rulers, it later transformed under British influence into a premier destination for tea cultivation. The region is world-renowned for its heritage "Berinag Tea," grown in the high-altitude estates that surround our property. Its unique "bowl-shaped" topography (from which 'Chaukori' gets its name) has served as a spiritual and strategic hub for centuries, positioned near the sacred Patal Bhuvaneshwar caves and ancient trade routes.
